This is my personal opinion page.

I created this page prior to the last election. At the time I disabled access to the page because I didn't want to offend anyone.

The combination of Obama in the Whitehouse, a democratic congress and the political Progressives having a field day is burying us in immense debt, wreaking incalculable damage to our integrity as a people, our economy and dare I say to our future as a sovereign nation.

The time for pussyfooting around the real issues is long past. It's time for real Americans to flush the turd of "Political Correctness" and do what is right for our nation!

Many times I have thought to completely remove this page. But each time I open it and do a read through, I end up editing it and adding to it instead.

I don't claim to have a monopoly on brains and /or wisdom, just some plain old common sense. I make no apologies for what I say here- maybe you'll agree, maybe you won't. But that's the nature of our free nation- each of us to have our own voice.

Politics and economics:

With VERY few exceptions, the political leaders of this country don't give a rat's rear end about our nation. The majority do whatever it takes to elbow their way in, belly up to the hog trough, and hork down as much as they possibly can as fast as they possibly can. They are led by the nose by Special Interest and Political Action groups, and by what ever allegiances they had to form with whatever devil helped them get elected to office. Whatever is done for their "constituents" is motivated not for the good of our nation, by their own personal gain and political positioning.

Almost without exception and across the board, there is NO ONE in our government who exercises or displays even the slightest hint of a long term, sustainable VISION for our nation. A vision that would insure our continued prosperity, national security and role as bearer of the banner of freedom in the world. The same freedom I might add, that was (and continues to be) purchased At GREAT COST by the blood and sacrifice of countless patriots throughout the history or our nation.

While Honda and Toyota already have advanced working prototypes of robots (Honda's Asimo, Toyota's i-REAL and Toyota Partners' robotics projects) and advanced vehicles, AND foreign nations are investing heavily in the technologies and energies of the future, we are busy exporting our manufacturing base and squabbling about what special interest group will receive the next handout.

All the while our national interests, our borders and our very security sit unguarded and vulnerable. It’s like leaving your home unlocked, doors wide open, keys in the car, your cherished family heirlooms, precious valuables and life savings accessible to anyone who wants to take them...

Our leaders, both political and corporate, have SOLD OUT our people and our nation for short term gain. They export our jobs and knowledge and sell off our country piece by piece. This "more for me" attitude permeates our thinking and from the top to the bottom, personal greed is the norm - from our political and corporate leaders, to the "everyman" on the street. The leaders of our nation convinced us to swallow the free trade agreement by promising us cheap goods. After all, who can compete with South American workers who will work for pennies on the dollar compared to our domestic labor force, not to mention Asia which is basically slave labor.  The final cost? Since all the jobs and industries are being exported, there will be precious few paid workers remaining to buy all these cheap products. The house of cards is due to collapse any time now...

Past political leaders (thank you Bill Clinton) have handed over sensitive missile targeting knowledge to China- our ideological enemies- the enemies of the freedom that we so easily take for granted. Remember The Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989? Right now, we are equipping those same ideological enemies to rule the world, by exporting our technical knowledge and industrial infrastructure to Asia- all in the name of lower cost of business and lower consumer prices via cheap labor and ultimately greater corporate profits. Meanwhile our industrial base is being systematically gutted and literally sold off for scrap. The greed of man from the top to the bottom.

Again, all to chase the almighty dollar with no consideration whatever for the long term consequences and no vision for the long term future of our nation. Instead of assuming the role of stewardship of a noble legacy of hard won freedom, we have become a cancer- living off of our own flesh.

It's all our fault! As a general rule, "We The People" have abdicated our responsibility as citizens of democracy and champions of the principles of freedom. We live by our stomachs. If we do vote at all, we vote for the politician or party which promises us the most. No matter what the cost, we put our own immediate gain over the long term good of our people (both present and future generations), our nation and the principles upon which it was founded.

We are now being bombarded by media campaigns for our soon to be elected next president. The sad fact is that NONE of the candidates are showing the slightest hint that they have any real answers for our nation. It is all 'Business as usual" in one form or another. In this selfish, self-centered "Paris Hilton" age, it's more important to look good than have any real substance. You can't tell me that in this "The Greatest Nation on Earth" this is the best we can come up with! The barbarians truly are at the door.

As PROOF of the above statements, I submit to you the following:

In the midst of the worst financial collapse since the Great Depression, in the height of our dire economic circumstances, A bail out package could not be passed through our government without well over 200 other things "tacked on". NONE, NO- NOT ONE can do what is right for our nation.

I rest my case.

Foreign Policy:

I'll be the first to admit that, as a nation, there is blood on our hands. Some of the things we have done in the name of "National Security" by the clandestine agencies of our government are inexcusable. "We The People" bear this shame, this responsibility; as it is we who are ultimately responsible for our government elect.

Because we have done wrong in the past however, does not disallow us from taking right actions in the present. The USA is the vanguard- the bearer of the banner of freedom throughout the world. The good we have done and continue to do throughout the world, far exceeds the mistakes of the past.

All around us, tyrants, dictators and murderous monsters are growing in strength and number. From the genocide in Ruanda, to the nuclear missiles in North Korea (and soon to be in IRAN). From the insane proclamation of Islamic Iran to "Kill the infidels", the silent agenda of Russia's resurging Communist Party; to the USA hate mongering of dictator Chavez; all across the globe, the enemies of freedom are gaining purchase.

The United Nations has become a den of perverted thieves, mired in politics and graft and stained by corruption at the deepest levels. Absolute shameful personal conduct, pursuit of power and rendering influence and power to the highest bidder is the norm.

Are you not completely fed up with political pantywaists hiding behind their shield of political correctness? None will stand up and be counted if they think it might possibly affect one vote.  The United States is a Christian Nation.  A Christian Nation in dire need of repentance mind you, but a Christian Nation nonetheless.  No matter how you spin it, the vast majority of Americans share Christian beliefs.  The very beliefs that the rest of the world hates.

We must walk before our God (the very God who bestowed upon us this blessing of freedom and liberty, prosperity and sovereignty as a nation) in humility, with fear and trembling. We must turn away from our whoring and return to our first love, embrace righteousness and do what is right.

Energy:

Nuclear power generation.

Some consider nuclear energy “Green” energy. No, it doesn't contribute to "greenhouse gasses", but have you considered...

How green is it when you factor in the massive amounts of ore that have to be mined from the earth and processed to obtain even a small quantity of usable radioactive material? When millions upon millions of dollars are expended to refine that material and enrich the uranium into a commercially viable form, not to mention the expense of building a nuclear power generation plant? Then more untold billions are spent to safely operate and maintain each nuclear power plant throughout its service life? All the while, one error by man or one failed technology or one act of terrorism in a nuclear power plant can result in an environmental catastrophe on the scale of Chernobyl or worse. When the spent nuclear materials have to be transported in specially built containers, secured and stored (for all practical purposes forever and at great expense) in specially designed nuclear waste storage facilities? (this is being generous, as they have yet to come up with a viable solution for nuclear waste). Finally, the nuclear power generating facility will eventually become obsolete and/or worn out and have to be decommissioned- again at great expense...

Bottom line: The only reason nuclear energy is considered is because some profiteers could make a huge pile of money from it.

If we had invested a fraction of that money into research, development, and further refinement of already existing alternate energy sources which TRULY are “Green” and have NO negative impact on the earth (i.e. solar and wind energy); Then we would have real, concrete answers to our energy needs, both in the near future and over the long haul. Not only would we have answers for our own nation, but would also have created answers and an exportable commodity to help solve the rest of the world’s energy needs (including the so called "third world" developing nations) in an environmentally responsible approach, so they too could walk softly upon the earth. as it stands, we are standing by while other nations position themselves for the future.

Environmental responsibility:

The EPA was created to protect the environment, and in many ways they have fulfilled that mandate. But there has to come a point where common sense kicks in. The EPA has been granted too much power! It has grown into a vast bureaucracy with it's tentacles spread into every area of our lives. It has no checks and balances and acts with complete autonomy. This agency needs to be reigned in.

We have hamstrung ourselves by disallowing the exploration and use of our OWN NATURAL RESOURCES! We weaken our domestic economy by sending our dollars overseas and not utilizing our own resources. If I was a conspiracy nut, I'd think out leaders were in league with OPEC to grant them a monopoly on the oil we purchase. It's time to rethink the consequences of where we obtain our oil, and balance that with a responsible yet common sense approach to preserving the environment. Think of it! We, in one fell swoop, could revitalize our own economy, create jobs and keep our dollars at home by simply removing the restrictions on domestic oil production and exploration.

In the meantime, we must free ourselves from our addiction to and dependency upon oil all together (and, as previously stated, foreign oil in particular)! Untold billions of our US dollars are spent every year on foreign oil. Arab Sheiks and Princes live like gods while their "subjects" languish in squalor. These "Gods of material wealth" smile in our faces, all the while supporting the institutions of subterfuge and of anti-American resentment and hate. If they are so righteous, if they are so god-like and pure and holy; why do they not help their own brothers instead of hoarding their vast riches for themselves?

And what about here in our own government. Consider the "Al Gore agenda" which moves to make the cost of gasoline so high as to discourage it's use (in other words, the citizenry is too stupid to make any intelligent decisions about energy so we'll make it for them). Al would like to make gas so expensive that the average citizen can't afford to use it- forcing us to develop more "green" energy sources. Where has this policy gotten us? An already crippled economy takes yet another blow from "punitive energy costs".

Answers:

OK, I've pointed out the obvious problems; how about some solutions??? Well, here's a start.

1) The old joke "What do you call a thousand lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?  A good start" applies to these politicians.  We need to hold their feet to the fire! If they don't perform in a responsible manner they're out!  I said PERFORM!  Put aside all the B.S. and rhetoric and political maneuverings!  Talk the talk and DO THE WALK! or GET OUT!

2) We've been complacent and lazy as "citizens of democracy".  We have not exercised vigilance over what our elected officials are doing.  But this is exactly what needs to happen.  There needs to be an UNBIASED system of disseminating information made available to the citizenry so that "we the people" can familiarize ourselves with the facts and make informed decisions.  And NO, the left wing liberal "mainstream" news media is not the answer.  If there is something newsworthy that contradicts their liberal left-wing progressive agenda,  it is completely ignored, downplayed, mocked, ridiculed, and / or dismissed as quackery.  In many cases they've crucified anyone who is critical of their ideology or has an original idea.  For example, the voice of the Tea Party movement isn't heard on the mainstream news media because it goes against their liberal left-wing progressive agenda.  When the Tea Party movement makes such a noise that they can no longer be ignored, they are portrayed as a bunch of bigoted, violent extremist nutcases.  The days of Walter Cronkite are over.  There IS NO LONGER ANY INTEGRITY OR ACCOUNTABILITY IN THE MAINSTREAM NEWS MEDIA!  We as citizens of democracy have to get off our butts and take responsibility for which elected officials are allowed to continue and which are voted out.

3) Lots of people complain that the space program is money wasted.  They would rather see the money given to the poor.  Haven't you heard the old saw "Give a person a fish and they will eat for a day;  Teach a person to fish and they will eat for a lifetime".  That same "expensive" space program is a huge industry, employing many thousands.  The resulting advances in science have given us things like state of the art refractory materials, lightweight advanced breathing systems for firefighters, intumescent paints, 'Lumaplast' high luminosity glow-in-the-dark materials, Teflon, and on and on.  Spin off technologies which benefit us in our everyday lives, provide the basis for many industries (i.e. good paying jobs) and keep us on the forefront of technology.

In that same way, it's not a far stretch to imagine how we can benefit from research and development of alternate energy resources.  Creating jobs and spin off technologies which in essence "teach people to fish" and keep us on the leading edge as a world leader in technology.  Free the private sector to innovate, research and develop new industries; and keep the bureaucrats out of the equation!

And here's a novel idea... Instead of handing over trillions in bail-out money to the very crooks responsible for getting us into this mess, put a solar collector on every roof! Feed the power grid from a nation of rooftop solar collectors and reap the benefits of cheap renewable energy; creating jobs and spawning new industries! Let's see how THAT stimulates the economy.

4) It's too late to "put the toothpaste back in the tube" and undo all the damage done to our economy and our national security by the handing out of our technological expertise. But we need to responsibly monitor what's given to our ideological enemies and bring good old industrial might back to the USA. Translation? Let's bring those jobs home and keep our "trade secrets" to ourselves. If that means being on the wrong side of a few evil dictators, then so be it.

The Wall Street "Bankers" and other pirates who profited from our recent financial collapse and subsequent ongoing bail outs need to be held accountable for their actions. They need to be imprisoned, their assets seized, liquidated and applied toward the financial disaster they created. But instead they now hold high ranking positions in our government.  How's that "Hope and Change" thing working out for you???

Obama has jammed his health care agenda down our throats. Forcing it on the American people against our will.  In light of his recent political maneuverings to get this rammed through, it's obvious that he's more interested in adding a notch to his belt than restoring the economic stability of our nation, let alone addressing the issue of health care in a responsible, sustainable manner.

We have passed the tipping point with the last presidential election. The point where the number of those who receive the hand-outs exceeds the working citizens who have to pay the bill.  It's my firm belief that If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Therefore, if you are on the receiving end of government money, be it food stamps, welfare, health care (or any other support system that you have not paid into) you should automatically forfeit your right to vote until such time that you can support yourself. That way the citizen who is forced to pay the bill has control over the spending. And what about government employees? Senators? Congressmen? Should they be allowed to vote themselves a raise or receive benefits that far exceed the citizen who is stuck paying the bill?  Absolutely NOT!

A few quotes from Thomas Jefferson

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."

"When a man assumes a public trust he should consider himself a public property."

"Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government."

The government that can take care of you can take your freedom.

VOTE THEM ALL OUT!  This is all I hear.  But who do you vote in????  WHERE IS THE VOICE OF REASON!? It is obvious that the last election presented us with no real choices, only card carrying, tow-the-line, entrenched politicians who are "fat where they're at" and wouldn't dare even consider disturbing the status quo, let alone cross the contributors who got them elected.  Folks, it's way past that!  What we need is a complete overhaul.  We need ordinary common sense citizens to step up, throw their hat into the political arena do what is right for our nation! And when they have done their job well, go back to their private sector jobs after their term in office is completed.  The way the political system was originally intended.

The frustration at the receiving end of this political log-jamb has become unbearable. But what can the average citizen do? Speak out!  It's time to bring correction and sanity by open debate.  It's one thing to champion ideals and totally another to finance them. If you're so smart, then let's hear your ideas! You say you want health care? Let's see a cogent plan on how it might be implemented in a sustainable fashion. Remember Ross Perot with his graphs and charts and an ACTUAL PLAN to get our nation out of debt? But no, we allow "Mr. Hope and Change"  to be handed the Presidency without even the slightest verification of anything he said.

We are responsible! The scriptures tell us "come, let us reason together". We must equip ourselves with the facts and be prepared at all times with a ready answer! We must look past the outward appearances and eloquent speech and see the true underlying intent of what is being said.

More to come...
