Microphone Locker
Pick the "right" microphone, coupled with the "right" mic placement, route it through the "right" mic preamp and premium quality A/D conversion... these are the first steps to getting the great sounds you want for your music.
By the way, the term "right" is placed in quotes for a reason. The "right" choice of mic, mic placement and mic preamp combination is subjective. By our definition, "right" is whatever sounds right and whatever best serves the music.
No matter if it's drums, guitar amp, sax, trumpet, flute, violin, or any other of a hundred instruments you can think of, our goal is to get the desired sound at the front end of the signal chain, before it hits the A/D (Analog to Digital) converters. The fact is, most times we get the sound we want using little or no equalization. The key? Choosing the microphone / preamp combination that displays the sonic character we're looking for.
